Techies have been putting their heads together to brainstorm ways they can help Haiti with technology. Tech “geeks” met Saturday in several cities to help form Crisis Camp Haiti, an event which brought together professionals to collaborate on devising ways to help Haiti through technology. The brainstorming sessions aimed to create solutions such as making more accurate maps of Port-au-Prince neighborhoods, improving ways to locate missing family members, and coordinating the incoming data in order to better serve those seeking relief information. The group Crisis Commons coordinated the events and hopes that Crisis Camp Haiti will provide tools for those on the ground who are providing relief.
