Due to a security hole on AT&T’s website, a group of hackers was able to obtain the e-mail addresses of about 114,000 iPad owners, according to a Gawker report. Gawker got its hands on a list of the e-mail addresses, which includes high-profile military officials, congressmen and Justice Department members, as well as execs at the New York Times, Time Warner, Conde Nast and Viacom. The hacking group, which goes by the name of Goatse Security (after a gross-out internet picture which you definitely should not Google), found that entering an iPad ID number on AT&T’s website returned the owner’s e-mail address; the group kindly notified AT&T and the breach was rectified. Apple has not yet commented, while AT&T released a statement that they became aware of the issue on Monday and are "continuing to investigate."
