The tech world was already buzzing up a storm about the infamous purloined next-gen iPhone, and now it’s earned that coveted spot in the annals of cultural relevance: Last night, David Letterman unveiled his “Top Ten Excuses of the Guy Who Lost the iPhone Prototype.”
Letterman is no stranger to ripping on technology — he’s riffed on the iPad and tried out Twitter — and, more often than not, he takes on the role of the grumpy old man. IE, he usually doesn’t “get it” — or at least pretends not to get it.
Well, true to form, Letterman didn’t get the fuss over the phone: “This comes under the category for me of ‘who cares?’” he told the audience before launching into the list, which included shout-outs to volcanic ash and the fingerless iPad guy, as well as a dig at AT&T.
