The Ubuntu Brainstorm staff are looking for potential candidates for the reviewer team. I'll try to give an overview of the basics that you might wish to know about. For any other question that comes to your mind, find us at #ubuntu-brainstorm (irc.freenode.net) on IRC or send a mail to our mailing list.
Who are Idea Reviewers?
Idea reviewers play a key role in management of ideas at Ubuntu Brainstorm. They are a part of the Brainstorm Moderators team. Reviewers are responsible for approving or rejecting new ideas from the Idea Sandbox. Once approved, the ideas are flagged as 'New', are set open for voting and get enlisted under the Latest Ideas section.
What is the approval criteria?
As an idea reviewer, you will have access to the sandbox moderator tools. The reviewer team checks whether the idea follows the submission guidelines. If he/she is satisfied with the quality of the post, the idea may be 'published' by using the moderator tools.
Whom do I ask when in doubt?
All new reviewers are welcome to request for a mentor and/or consult other team members on IRC or the team mailing list.
How does a reviewer become a moderator?
Brainstorm moderators have a higher privileged access to Ubuntu Brainstorm. They have a range of moderator tools that allow them to approve, reject, close or delete ideas; mark them as duplicate, submitted etcetera. To join the moderator team, a reviewer would need to work with the team for some time. An idea reviewer needs to be sponsored by three existing members of the moderator team to get promoted to a Brainstorm moderator.
Who can join?
Everyone can! :)
We are not looking for a person with a high positive idea count, but a person who has been a member for some time and has an appreciable participation in discussing ideas (ie. a person with a general idea about how Brainstorm works). Knowledge about how ideas are managed and moderated isn't necessarily needed as the members of the moderator team will always be around to answer your queries.
If you feel like giving a hand towards making Brainstorm even better, you are welcome aboard! Interested members should mail us at the team mailing list (please include a link to your Brainstorm profile in your mail).
